Peoria Rivermen News Release

Nikolay Lemtyugov registered the lone goal for the Peoria Rivermen as they were upended by the Houston Aeros 7-1 at Carver Arena on Tuesday night.

Lemtyugov's 15th goal of the year got the crowd going at 8:59 of the first period, a power play marker from Micki DuPont and Trent Whitfield to make it 1-0.

It was all downhill from there, as the Aeros would score seven times on 28 shots against Hannu Toivonen, who suffered his first loss in the AHL this season. Peter Olvecky scored twice and Adrian Foster captured first star honors with a goal and three assists on the night.

Barry Brust also turned in a solid performance, stopping 32-of-33 shots from the Rivermen as he came off the bench just 1:58 into the game when starter Nolan Schaefer left with an apparent injury to his left leg.

Peoria returns to action on Friday at 7 pm against the San Antonio Rampage, with a post-game concert by Virgin Recording artists dEAF PEdESTRIANS. Tickets are on sale now through the Peoria Civic Center Box Office, all TicketMaster locations, on line at www.TicketMaster.com, or charge by phone at (309) 676-8700.
