Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Tuesday that the National Hockey League club has assigned forward Martin St. Pierre to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

St. Pierre returns to the IceHogs as the club's leading point scorer and the second-most prolific point producer in the AHL. In 43 contests with the IceHogs in 2007-08, St. Pierre has accumulated 16g-46a-62pts.

The Embrun, Ontario native has skated in five games with Chicago and his last stint in the Windy City was his second recall of the season. In St. Pierre most recent stint, he played in four games after getting recalled on January 29.

Without St. Pierre in the line up, the IceHogs offense has struggled scoring just 11 goals in six games. During that stretch, Rockford has a record of 1-4-1-0.

Next Home Game: Friday, Feb. 15 vs. Quad City Flames. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Rockford looks for revenge against the Flames who held on to a quick start on Sunday to topple the IceHogs 4-3. The first 1,500 girls to the game on Friday will pick up a pink IceHogs T-shirt in spirit of Valentine's Day courtesy of Rock River Valley Blood Bank, Midwest Stitch, Hulsebus Chiropractic, Guerilla Graffix, General Mills and B103. The game is the third at the MetroCentre between the West Division foes and the first 500 kids to the contest 12 and under will pick up a Walking With Dinosaurs lapel pin courtesy of the IceHogs and the MetroCentre.
