Aerodynamics.

. The replay. The lone run of the game came when Alden Carrithers scored in the fifth inning. Carrithers singled to second base and advanced to second on a single by Brandon Douglas. Brandon Jones doubled in the next at-bat and allowed Carrithers to score. Right-handed starter Steven Wright (2-2) pitched well in his second start this season but did not receive any run support and took the loss. The former Hawaii Warrior allowed just one run on five hits with five strikeouts against one walk. Wright went five innings, his longest outing of the season. Brooks Brown (12-9) earned after allowing only two hits, three walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work. Lester Oliveros recorded his 14th save of the season.

. Bagel bits. The Aeros have now played in 17 shutout games in the 2010 season. Even though Akron lost yesterday, they still have a 12-5 record in shutout games overall this year. That is good for a first place tie with the Trenton Thunder. The SeaWolves are now 6-10 in shutout gmaes.

. Mighty Miguel times two. Out of Akron's four hits on Sunday, infielder Miguel Perez had two of them. It is the second-straight game that Perez has gone 2-4 against the SeaWolves. He leads a struggling offense with a .364 average (4-11) in the series against Erie with a pair of doubles, an RBI, a run scored, a walk, and two strikeouts. Perez is hitting .400 (6-15) overall on the eight-game road trip.

. League leaders. The Aeros lead the Eastern League in overall batting average heading into the final game of the regular season. Akron has a combined average of .270. Altoona is closely behind in second with an overall batting average of .269.

. Mucho Gracias. On behalf of everyone associated with the Aeros, our deepest and most genuine thanks to all our fans, sponsors and media partners for a wonderful 2010 season, and a happy off-season to all. Opening Day 2011 is slated for Thursday, April 7th at 7:05 p.m. at Canal Park against the Binghamton Mets. Starters have not yet been announced for that contest. Thanks again from everyone at the Akron Aeros.
