
Aeros edge Ducks in OT

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Erik Reitz scored at 2:21 of overtime to lift the Houston Aeros to a 5-4 win over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Saturday at the Cincinnati Gardens.
Jean-Guy Trudel had a goal and three assists for the Aeros, who rallied from a two-goal second period deficit to extend their season-opening winning streak to four games. Kyle Wanvig chipped in with a goal and two assists.
Jonathan Hedstrom, Rob Valicevic, Jason York and Cam Severson scored for the Ducks, who are now 3-2-0-1 all-time in season home-openers.
Derek Gustafson got the call in net for the Aeros and responded by turning away 28-of-32 shots to improve his record to 2-0-0. Jean-Francois Damphousse, a first-round pick by New Jersey in 1997, made 36 saves in the loss.
The Ducks and Aeros finish a two-game series Sunday at 4:05 p.m. at the Cincinnati Gardens. The entire Mighty Ducks team will be available to sign autographs for fans after the game.
