Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI- Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today the team will honor the WIAA State Championship Boys Hockey Team from the University School of Milwaukee at the Admirals game this Friday, March 10th at 7:00 pm versus the Cleveland Barons.

With their 8-1 triumph over Fond du Lac in last Saturday's title game, University School, who posted a 25-1 record on the season, became the first boy's hockey state champion from the Milwaukee area. Last year Hartland Arrowhead was the first Southeast Wisconsin team to reach the final game.

"We are thrilled for all of the players, coaches, and fans of the University School for the state title," said Greenberg. "Their success is a tremendous example of the growth of hockey that Wisconsin has experienced over the last ten years."

Cal Roadhouse, the Wildcats Head Coach, played in over 100 games for the Admirals back in the 1982-83 and 1983-84 seasons. His assistant coach, Yves Preston, played in parts of five seasons with the Ads from 1976-77-1983-84. He also played in 28 NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers.

The girl's state championship team from Fond du Lac/Waupun has been invited to join the Admirals at a future game, but a date has not yet been determined.

For tickets to Friday's game fans can call Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or log on to www.ticketmaster.com. The first 3,500 fans will receive a bobble-head doll of Milwaukee Brewers pitcher and Admirals investor Ben Sheets, courtesy of M&I Bank.
