Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI--The Milwaukee Admirals received goals from four different players and goaltender Mark Dekanich was solid in net again for Milwaukee as the Ads took a 4-1 win over the Rockford IceHogs Sunday afternoon at the Bradley Center. Eleven different players found their way on to the scoresheet for Milwaukee, while their penalty killing unit was a perfect 5-for-5 on the night.

The Admirals offense sputtered early, going shotless for the first ten minutes, but quickly got up to speed. Thanks in part to Mark Matheson, Milwaukee was able to grab the lead. Matheson stickhandled all the way up the right side before sending the puck through the crease for Triston Grant. Grant was able to tip it into the net for a 1-0 lead at 12:31 of the first period.

The Admirals lit the lamp again in the second period to go up 2-0. Milwaukee's Mark Santorelli fired a hard shot on goal that was stopped by Rockford's Cory Crawford, but the rebound when right on the stick of newcomer Dylan Hunter, who had an open net to score his first goal as an Admiral and helped Milwaukee build momentum.

A short while later the Admirals tallied on the power play for their third goal of the afternoon. After some great puck movement around the horn, Milwaukee's Robert Dietrich wound up and fired from the top of the circle. Nick Spaling, standing directly in front of Rockford crease, deflected the puck before it sailed past Crawford for a 3-0 Admirals lead at 6:37 of the second period.

Following three consecutive Milwaukee goals Rockford's Akim Aliu answered back at 10:38 of the second with Rockford's first and only goal of the game. Rockford's Adam Hobson fed Akim Aliu the puck just outside the crease. Aliu snuck the puck past Dekanich's stick side to tighten the score at 3-1.

Late in the final period the Admirals Colin Wilson salted the victory away for Milwaukee. Wilson blasted a slap shot from the left dot after a nice feed from Robert Dietrich. Wilson was able to beat Crawford glove side for his thirteenth goal of the season.
