Ryan Gaucher scored a goal and tacked on four assists as the Alaska Aces shut down the Augusta Lynx 6-1 at Sullivan Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The two teams traded power play goals in the opening frame, with Kimbi Daniels putting the Aces (32-6-3) ahead 1-0 at 5:54 on a Ryan Gaucher feed. The five-on-three goal was Alaska's third man advantage marker of the series. Augusta (17-22-3) responded with a Brian Passmore power play marker at 13:21 to knot the game at 1-1 through 20 minutes of play.

Alaska would mark twice in the second period to extend their advantage, with the first goal coming at 2:42 on a shot from the slot by Gaucher. The Aces then scored their second power play goal at 15:36 when Justin Maiser tipped a point shot past Jason Wolfe for a 3-1 edge.

A three-goal third period would cement the win for the Aces, as Mike Scott, Joe Talbot, and Vladimir Novak all found the score sheet. Alaska finished the game with three power play goals on ten chances, while Augusta went 1-for-5 on the evening. Matt Underhill finished with 26 saves to earn the win, his 19th of the season.

Augusta will now head to Victoria, British Columbia to battle the Salmon Kings for three straight to wrap up a western road swing before heading home to face the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, February 10th at 7:35 pm.
