SALT LAKE CITY, Utah- The Aces went on a scoring spree for the second-straight game, recording an 11-3 win over the Salt Lake Bees in the first game of the series Tuesday night at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
Reno overcame an early 3-1 deficit, posting at least one run in each frame except the seventh and ninth. Each Aces position player in the starting lineup made it on base at least once, with Matt Davidson, Tuffy Gosewisch, Kila Ka'aihue, Chris Owings and Brad Snyder collecting two hits apiece.
Didi Gregorius, in his first game of a Major League Rehabilitation Assignment with Reno, went 1-for-5 with a walk as the designated hitter and leadoff batter.
The Aces bullpen was stellar, combining to give up only three hits and shut out the Bees in the final five innings of the contest. Reliever Garrett Mock earned his first win of the season, giving up only one hit and striking out one through the fifth and sixth innings.
Bees starting pitcher Orangel Arenas was charged with the loss in his Triple-A debut. He gave up six runs-five earned-on seven hits and walked two through four innings before he was replaced.
The series continues Wednesday night, with a doubleheader at Spring Mobile Ballpark. Each game of the doubleheader will last seven innings. RHP Randall Delgado (0-0, 5.79 ERA) gets the nod for Reno in Game One, while the Bees will counter with former Aces RHP Barry Enright (0-0, 1.59 ERA).
