
Aces Seven-Game Winning Streak Comes to An End In, 84-82, Loss to Sky

Palmetto, FL - Despite erasing the entirety of a 12-point fourth quarter lead Tuesday evening, the Aces dropped an 84-82 decision to the Chicago Sky, bringing an end to Las Vegas' seven-game winning streak.
KEY RUNS
First Quarter (Las Vegas 25, Chicago 15)
Las Vegas led, 20-15, with 2:05 to go, and closed the quarter on a 5-0 run.
Second Quarter (Las Vegas 46, Chicago 39)
Las Vegas extended its lead to 12, 29-17, with 8:37 to go in the half. Chicago scored 13 of the next 19 points to slice the lead to five, 35-30.
Third Quarter (Chicago 64, Las Vegas 58)
Chicago scored the first seven points of the quarter to tie the scored at 46, forcing the Aces to call time out. They then scored the next bucket of the game to take their first lead since early in the first quarter. A Danielle Robinson jumper ended the 9-0 run.
The Aces still led 51-50, but the Sky scored six straight to take their largest lead of the game to that point, 56-51.
Las Vegas tied the game at 58, but Chicago ended the quarter scoring the final six points.
Fourth Quarter (Chicago 84, Las Vegas 82)
The Sky extended their lead to 12, 78-66, with 4:34 remaining in the game, and still led by 11, 82-71, with 2:40 to go. Las Vegas scored 11 straight points to tie the game, but Chicago's Azura Stevens scored on a cutting lay up with 2.9 seconds left to secure the win.
KEY STATS
Chicago shot 51.4 percent from the field, while the Aces shot 37.8 percent
Las Vegas committed just 7 turnovers, which the Sky turned into 4 points. Chicago was forced into 17 miscues, which the Aces flipped into 21 points.
The Aces went 21 for 24 the free throw line, while the Sky went 2 for 5
The Aces' bench outscored the Sky bench 28 to 19.
GAME NOTES
Las Vegas had its seven-game winning streak snapped. It was the longest streak for the team since it won 12 in a row in 2012.
A'ja Wilson scored in double figures for the 11th straight game to start the season, and the 67th time in her 70 games as a pro (11 points)
Angel McCoughtry scored in double figures for the 9th game this season, and the 270th time in her professional career (17 points).
Kayla McBride scored in double figures for the 7th time this season, and the 140th time in her professional career (15 points).
Dearica Hamby scored in double figures for the 10th time this season and the 73rd time in her career (11 points).
Danielle Robinson scored in double figures for the 3rd time this season and the 125th time in her career (13 points).
A'ja Wilson blocked a season-high 5 shots.
Las Vegas allowed a team to connect on more than 50 percent of their shots for just the second time this season (Phoenix, July 31).
Jackie Young had her streak of consecutive double-digit games snapped at 5.
