Aces Receive Forwards Back from AHL

The Alaska Aces received forwards Tyler Ruegsegger and Chris Bruton back from loan to the American Hockley League on Monday, the club announced. Ruegsegger had been with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers since December 8, and Bruton spent last week with the Peoria Rivermen. Both players will join the Aces for their road trip this weekend and are expected to be in Wednesday's lineup. Alaska visits the Idaho Steelheads on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before returning to the Sullivan Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 28 to host the Colorado Eagles. Ruegsegger, 23, played in four games for the Sound Tigers during his call up. He has 15 points (8g, 7a) in 22 games this season for Alaska. This was Ruegsegger's second stint in the AHL. He earned a 12-game call-up to the AHL's Abbotsford Heat late last season, where he tallied a goal and added four assists. Ruegsegger has points in his last three Aces games, and nine points (4g, 5a) in his last ten.

Bruton, 24, played in all three games for the Sound Tigers over the weekend, making his AHL debut. He had spent training camp with the Rivermen prior to joining the Aces. Bruton has has 11 points (5g, 6a) in 24 games this season. At the time of his call up the rookie was one of only four players who has appeared in every Aces game so far, joining three veterans in Bryan Miller, Brian Swanson, and Steve Ward. Bruton's 58 penalty minutes lead the Aces, and ranks third among all ECHL rookies. His eight major penalties are second among rookies.
