Chicago Express News Release
Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, earned a win on home ice against the Elmira Jackals during the first annual Teddy Bear Toss game last Friday. Chicago finished the week with a 1-3-0-0 record, and are now 14-10-2-1, and their 31 points places them in second place in the North Division, three points behind Kalamazoo.

Toledo 4, EXPRESS 3
After a first period goal from F Mike Embach gave the Express a 1-0 lead heading into the second period, Toledo struck for four quick goals in the first ten minutes of the second period to take a 4-1 lead over the Chicago. F Kyle Ostrow and RW Chaz Johnson both scored in the third period, but Chicago's comeback effort came up just short as Toledo won 4-3.
Friday, December 16
EXPRESS 5, Elmira 3
Teddy Bear Toss was a success at the Sears Centre Arena, and fans didn't have to wait long to throw their bears. LW Chad Painchaud roofed a puck over the shoulder of G Brian Stewart 4:34 into the opening frame. The Express opened up a 3-1 lead by the end of the first period, increasing it to 4-1 on a goal by C Aaron Marvin in the second period. Elmira scored twice in the third, but F Bobby Robins polished off the victory with an empty net goal with one second left as the Express took a 5-3 win.
Saturday, December 17
CINCINNATI 3, Express 0
The Cyclones scored one goal in each period, including an empty net goal, en route to handing the Express their first shutout in club history. Injuries and call-ups forced the Express to play two skaters short, as G Rob Nolan made his return from Houston of the AHL. Nolan made 32 saves in the loss.
Sunday, December 18
WHEELING 4, Express 1
Wheeling snapped a 0-0 tie with a goal from LW Mikael Bedard at 4:37 of the second period, which was answered 1:12 later by Express F Kyle Ostrow. The Nailers slipped one more goal past G Allen York before the end of the period, and then scored twice more, once on a power play and once on an empty net, to complete the 4-1 win.
Team Notes: C Aaron Marvin had the first three assist game in Chicago Express history on Wednesday. He had a five game, 11 point (3g, 8a) scoring streak snapped on Saturday.D Drew Paris returned for one game on Friday night before being recalled to Toronto (AHL). He had an assist in the 5-3 win.D Darcy Campbell returned from Springfield (AHL) on Sunday and had an assist on the lone Chicago goal.The Express celebrated their first-ever Teddy Bear Toss game on Friday, with LW Chad Painchaud scoring the Teddy Bear Toss launching goal.LW Devin DiDiomete played in his 200th professional game on Sunday.Chicago has played at least one player short in each of their last three games.
