Las Vegas Aces News Release
Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas Aces General Manager Natalie Williams announced today that the team has re-signed seven-year WNBA veteran center Kiah Stokes.
"Kiah Stokes is a dominant rim protector, who knows what it takes to win," said Williams. "Her defense last season was crucial to us winning the championship, and we are so happy that she wants to be a part of this great team again as we attempt to run it back."
Stokes has been with the Aces since July 2, 2021 when she signed with Las Vegas after being waived by the New York Liberty. Last year, she helped the franchise to their first WNBA Championship, starting all 10 games in the postseason, while averaging 3.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
Stokes has been one of the most prolific rebounders in the league since New York selected the three-time national champion out of UConn with the 11th overall pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft. Among players who have logged at least 3,000 minutes since that time, Stokes ranks 5th in rebound percentage (16.3), 8th in defensive rebound percentage (23.1), and 8th in offensive rebound percentage (9.3).
Her career field goal percentage of 52.4 percent is the 11th highest in the league since 2015 among players with at least 300 made field goals.
