Colors of the Win(d):

The Reno Aces stun the Sacramento River Cats, 8-7, in 12 innings. With yesterday's victory, the Biggest Little City's team has yet to lose a six-game set this season and will look to win its eighth series of the year tonight. Reno currently holds a 7-0-5 record through 12 completed slates.

Ildemaro Vargas provided timely offense for the Aces, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, a pair of runs scored and a trio of walks. Reno's all-time hits leader knocked in the game-winning run in the 12th on a single to right.

Henry Ramos put forth his 21st multi-hit contest of the year, going 3-for-6 at the dish with a run scored and an RBI.

Nick Heath extended his hitting streak to five with his leadoff triple in the seventh. The Aces' outfielder recorded his fourth three-bagger of the season in his outing against the home club.

Matt Gage picked up his first Triple-A save and the second career save with a perfect 12th that featured three strikeouts for the left-hander.

I'll Make a Man Out of You:

Ramos has been on fire since July 1, boasting a .418/.495/.620 slash line while going 33-for-79 at the dish in 22 games. Of his 33 base knocks, 25 have been singles to along with four home runs, four doubles, 18 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

McCarthy has been on a tear since the start of the Round Rock series on July 22. After game one against the Express, the outfielder was slashing .174/.273/.384. Since that game, McCarthy bumping his slash line to .231/.314/.405. The 24-year-old has put forth a 13-for-35 showing for a .371 batting average along with a trio of RBIs and seven runs scored.

After a slow start to his Triple-A career, Jose Herrera has been one of the Aces' hottest hitters. Reno's catcher is slashing .311/.440/.459 with 19 hits, 12 RBIs and seven tallies in 21 appearances.

After a rough first month in Triple-A, Humberto Mejia turned around his season in July by bringing his ERA down from 70.20 to 6.13 in just seven starts. Since July 1, Mejia holds a perfect 3-0 record while surrendering 10 runs on 28 hits and punching out 27 batters in 29 innings of work.

Kevin McCanna has been near-lights out since returning from the injured list on July 2, making six appearances, four of which were starts, and allowing just five runs on 13 hits in 15.2 innings of work. The Aces' right-hander also rode a 9.1-inning shutout streak from July 6-30, striking out 10 batters along the way.

Beauty and the Beast:

Despite the worst record in the division, Sacramento has been one of the hottest hitting teams in Minor League Baseball. The club is hitting a second-best .284 with 776 hits this season behind Reno's MiLB-leading .289 batting average and 778 base knocks.

The McCarthy brothers have been hot at the dish since July 22, combining for 27 hits in 68 at-bats (.397), nine RBIs and 11 runs scored.

Henry and Heliot Ramos have also been on a tear since Sacramento's Ramos was called up on July 22, registering 19 hits, 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored in 20 combined games played.

Five Aces have recorded at least four hits against the River Cats this series with Ramos leading the charge with eight base knocks. HIs four RBIs are tied with Cooper Hummel and Juniel Querecuto for the team lead and his four runs scored match Nick Heath and Seth Beer for the club high.

Gerson Garabito will toe the slab for the River Cats opposite the Aces' hottest starter, Mejia. Garabito will make his sixth start of the season and his second appearance against Reno. The right-hander tossed 3.2 scoreless innings versus the Biggest Little City's team on June 25, surrendering just two hits and struck out four out of the bullpen.

Mejia will look to rebound from his first two outings against Sacramento, combining to allow 10 runs on 13 hits in four innings of work while registering two of his three losses in Triple-A to the River Cats.

Everything the Light Touches is Ours:

The Aces became the first team to reach the 200-run plateau with exactly 205 in the seventh inning or later. Reno also leads Triple-A with a .315 batting average, 276 hits, 43 home runs, 50 doubles and 11 triples after the sixth frame.

With its Minor League-leading 205 tallies and .315 batting average in the seventh inning or later, the Biggest Little City's team has 26 more runs than Beloit with 179 and 25 more points than second-best Quad City with a .290 mark.
