Aces News Release
Yohanny Valera had two hits and drove in four, while Mike Davis and Greg Schmidt each drove in a pair, as the Aces put an end to Quebec's eight-game winning streak with an 11-6 victory. The Aces led 3-0 after six innings of play before Les Capitales got on the board on a sacrifice fly from Olivier Lepine. The Aces responded by scoring five in the seventh, two on a double by Valera for a 8-1 advantage. An inning later, the Aces added to their lead with three more runs, two of which came on a two-out single for Valera, who entered the game with a total of three RBI. Les Capitales scored five times in the ninth before Buzzy Francis came in and got the final two outs to preserve the victory for Marc Cerbone, who went seven innings and allowed an unearned run on five hits for his first win of the year. Buck McNabb went 3-for-3 with an RBI for Quebec, while Schuyler Doakes and Coby Smith had two hits apiece for the Aces.
