F Alexander Naurov got Bakersfield on the board, redirecting a D David Kudelka slap shot past Aces G Chris Beckford-Tseu. C Steve Slonina and F Andrew Ianiero then capitalized on a two-man advantage with consecutive tallies, bringing the Condors within one, 4-3. However, the Aces responded with a pair of goals from D Derick Martin and F Josh Soares, and entered the second intermission with a 6-3 lead.
