Recent acquisition AJ Bozoian scored his first goal in an Inferno sweater three minutes later to put Columbia up 2-0; Mac Faulkner and Jeremy Schenderling earned the assists. The Stingrays cut the lead in half in the final minute of the first when Travis Morin netted his 32nd goal of the year, beating Jeff Jakaitis while getting help from Cail MacLean and Marty Guerin.
Liam Huculak reclaimed the two goal lead for the Inferno four minutes into the second period when his fifth of the year beat Johnson. Owen Fussey and Perry notched the assists. The Stingrays struck again the waning seconds of the period when Paul McIlveen beat Jakaitis on the powerplay with help from Nate Kiser and MacLean to cut the Inferno lead to 3-2.
