Orlando City SC News Release

The Orlando City Academy teams took their talents to Atlanta this past weekend for the MLS Academy Cup, showing well against other league academies across a holiday weekend of exhibition play. Both the Orlando City U17s and U15s won two of their three games, scoring 11 goals across the six matches.

Ethan Subachan continued a strong spring for the U17s, pacing the side with four goals on the weekend. Subachan scored in all three matches, notching a brace in a 3-2 win against FC Dallas on Saturday.

Favian Loyola joined Subachan on the scoresheet on Friday as the U17s defeated LA Galaxy 2-1, while Alex Freeman was the other goalscorer in the Dallas victory. Subachan's goal was not enough to complete a holiday weekend sweep on Monday, though, as the U17s fell to NYCFC 2-1.

The U15s got goals from Alejandro Granados Torres, Gabriel "Colo" Rosario, and Majed Abdullah in a 3-2 win over the Galaxy on Friday, while Jackson Platts and Theo Franca scored in Saturday's 2-1 victory over NYCFC. The U15s finished the weekend with a 1-0 loss to FC Cincinnati on Monday.

The successful weekend comes after victories for both sides the previous week against Chargers FC. Subachan had a goal in a 3-1 win for the U17s along with Colin Guske and Ian Silva, while Owen Drummond's goal was all the U15s needed in a 1-0 victory.
