Aberdeen, MD - The Aberdeen IronBirds finished off the 2014 season in style, defeating the Hudson Valley Renegades 10-6, earning a two game sweep of the McNamara Division Champions.

The Renegades struck first in the top of the first inning off of IronBirds' starter Brian Gonzalez. He allowed a run on two hits as the visitors took a quick 1-0 lead.

Aberdeen responded in a big way in the fourth. Steve Wilkerson hit an RBI single up the middle with the bases loaded to tie the game at one all. Riley Palmer was gunned down trying to score a second run on the play, and that brought Randolph Gassaway to the plate with runners on first and second. He gave the IronBirds the lead, as he hit a three run home run down the left field line and it was 4-1 Aberdeen after four innings.

Hudson Valley scored five unanswered between the fifth and sixth innings, and led 6-4 heading to the seventh.

Jay Gonzalez reached on a bunt single and then had a front row seat for Steve Clevenger's game-tying two run home run to left field, and the score was 6-6.

In the bottom of the eighth, the IronBirds sent eight batters to the plate and scored four runs. Jamill Moquete had an RBI single, while Jay Gonzalez had an RBI double. Clevenger capped the inning with a two run double to right center, making the score 10-6 in favor of the IronBirds.
