MUSKEGON, MI - Goaltender Dryden McKay halted 55-of-58 shots in the Madison Capitols 5-3 win over the Muskegon Lumberjacks at L.C. Walker Arena on Friday night.

Madison (17-17-1-2) moved into a tie for sixth place in the Eastern Conference with 37 points. Muskegon (19-17-1-1) is tied for fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 40 points.

Capitols left wing Alec Broetzman picks up his second goal of the night, 17th tally of the season at 15:24 of the final period to give the Caps a 4-3 lead. Defenseman Branden Suter carried the puck down the right wing and fell to the ice as he centered a pass to Broetzman between the hash marks. Broetzman one-timed the puck into the net for the go-ahead goal.

Defenseman Marc Del Gaizo put the Lumberjacks on the board at 11:46 of the opening frame. Center Jachym Kondelik grabbed the puck in the right face-off circle and found center Emilio Pettersen in the high slot. Pettersen quickly fed the puck over to Del Gaizo at the left doorstep for the one-timer that beat McKay to give Muskegon a 1-0 lead.

Broetzman tied the game at 1-1 with his 16th goal of the season at 2:36 of the middle period. Broetzman carried the puck down the left wing and his initial shot was saved by netminder Zach Borgiel. Broetzman carried the puck behind the net and found center Michael Mancinelli on the left doorstep. Mancinelli's shot was blocked and Broetzman jammed in the rebound by the right post to tie the game.

The Lumberjacks regained their lead at 4:51 of the second stanza. Defenseman Bray Crowder sent a weird angle shot from the right corner of the Capitols zone to the net. The puck bounced off of center Anthony Del Gaizo and over McKay for the goal to give the Lumberjacks a 2-1 advantage.

Forward Kamil Sadlocha picked up unassisted goal at 17:13 of the second period to tie the game at 2-2. Sadlocha grabbed the puck at the right side of the Lumberjacks blueline, skated in on Borgiel all alone, and slipped the puck between the netminder's legs for his 10th goal of the season.

Former Capitols right wing Vincent de Mey picked up his 10th goal of the season at 18:20 of the middle frame to give the Lumberjacks a 3-2 lead. Crowder put a shot on net from the slot that McKay made the pad save on. De Mey was on the left doorstep to chip the puck into the net.

The Capitols tied up the game at 7:06 of the third period with left wing Brendan Walkom's third goal of the season. Left wing Trey LaBarge broke up the Lumberjacks in the neutral zone and center Reid Pabich picked up the puck. Pabich and Walkom skated in on a two-on-one, and Walkom buried a pass to tie the game at 3-3.

The Capitols added an insurance goal at 16:49 of the final frame. Center Ludwig Stenlund and left wing Verners Egle skated into the Lumberjacks zone on a two-on-one breakaway. Stenlund fed the puck to Egle in the right circle for the one-timer that beat Borgiel for a 5-3 advantage.

McKay (16-12-1-2) earned his 16th win of the season with 55 saves on 58 shots. Borgiel (2-1-0-0) took his first loss of the season as he stopped 23-of-28 shots.

Madison went 0-for-2 on the power play. Muskegon was 0-for-1 with the man advantage.

Notables: Left wing Alec Broetzman netted his third two-goal game of the season...Left wing Verners Egle picked up his fifth point (3-2=5) and third goal in his last six games...Goaltender Dryden McKay tied his career-high 55 saves in a game, and he faced a career-high 58 shots on goal.
