Modesto, CA. - A back and forth game ended with a grand slam in the Modesto Nuts' 11-7 loss against the Stockton Ports on Thursday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
In the third, the Nuts (7-14; 33-58) plated six runs on three hits but late offense completed the Blaze (16-5; 53-38) comeback.
In the eighth, the Blaze tied the game in the eighth with a RBI single by Braden Bishop and a sac fly by Jay Baum. In the ninth, with the game locked at seven, Tyler Matzek (L, 0-3) surrendered a walk-off grand slam to Drew Jackson.
Ramon Morla (W, 1-2) tossed a perfect ninth for the Blaze.
Forrest Wall drove in a pair of runs. Drew Weeks went 2-for-4 with a RBI. Omar Carrizales scored twice, drove in a run and whacked a double.
Ryan Castellani worked four innings allowing seven hits and five runs in his start for the Nuts.
