Stampede Acquire Corey Hawkins from Skyforce

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Stampede announced today the team has acquired Corey Hawkins from the Sioux Falls Skyforce in exchange for the returning player rights of Shane Gibson. In a subsequent move, the team has waived guard Ta'Quan Zimmerman. Following the moves, the Stampede's roster now stands at 12 players.

Hawkins (UC Davis, 6-1, 200) has appeared in nine games for the Skyforce this season, averaging 2.1 points and 1.3 rebounds in 9.9 minutes of action.

A native of Philadelphia, Hawkins played one season at Arizona State (2010-11) before transferring to UC Davis (2012-15). He averaged 20.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 33.4 minutes per contest in 28 games (all starts) for the Aggies during his senior campaign. At the end of the 2014-15 regular season, he led the country in three-point field goal percentage (.488) and was seventh in points per game. Hawkins was named the 2015 Big West Conference Player of the Year and earned 2015 All-Big West Conference First Team honors. ?
