Texas Legends News Release

PORTLAND, ME - The Texas Legends were unable to forge a rally in the final minutes of a back-and-forth battle with the Maine Red Claws Thursday afternoon. Despite a combined 53-point effort from Manny Harris and Tu Holloway, the visiting team took a 112-119 loss.

Maine grabbed the lead immediately but Texas pushed back and took over three minutes in. With 11 points from Holloway, the Legends held on through the remainder of the first, carrying a 39-34 lead into the second. The second quarter saw five lead changes and three ties as Holloway put up another 10 points to answer Maine's 56% outside shooting. The Red Claws out-shot the Legends and doubled their rebounds to go into the locker room with a one point advantage.

The struggle continued through the third with four more lead changes and ties. Harris knocked down 7-of-12 for 18 points in the fourth quarter but the Legends were unable to contain the Red Claws' 55% shooting. With just under nine minutes to play, the Red Claws took over the lead they would hold through the final buzzer.

Harris came off the bench to lead the Legends with 28 points, 10 rebounds while Holloway added 25 points, 11 assists for the team's only other double-double.

Celtics' guard RJ Hunter also posted 28 points to lead the Red Claws while fellow assignee Jordan Mickey added the team's first triple-double of the season with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocks.

The Legends return home to host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Saturday night at 7pm at Dr Pepper Arena. The game will be broadcast live on television-Texas47-as well as radio-kvgiradio.com. For tickets or information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
