RENO, NV - The Bakersfield Jam (8-11) fell to the Reno Bighorns (9-7) 123-97 on Wednesday night at the Reno Events Center.
The Jam and Bighorns battled through 13 lead changes and five ties in the first half, but the Bighorns pulled away late in the second quarter to take a 62-52 lead at the break. In the third, Reno outscored Bakersfield 33-26 and went into the fourth period with a 17-point lead (95-78).
Bakersfield's struggles continued in the final frame, as they shot just 30.8 percent from the field and got outscored 28-19 in the quarter.
Six Jam players scored in double-figures, led by Xavier Munford's 20 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Earl Clark registered a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Askia Booker tallied 13 points off the bench. Deonte Burton (11), Kyle Casey (11) and Renaldo Major (10) also had double-digit scoring performances.
The Bighorns were led by Ricky Ledo (26 points, 6 rebounds) and Vincent Hunter (26 points, 8 rebounds). David Stockton posted a double-double with 21 points and 11 assists.
Bakersfield concludes its four-game road trip on Saturday, January 2 when they take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders at 6:30 p.m. PT.
