Bakersfield Jam News Release

CANTON - The Bakersfield Jam (2-5) rallied from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but Terrico White's potential game-winner came up short and the Jam fell 100-98 to the Canton Charge (2-3) Saturday night at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. Earl Clark posted a team-high 24 points to go along with a game-high nine rebounds.

The Jam got off to a cold start from the field, shooting 38.1 percent, compared to Canton's 50.0 percent, and finished the opening quarter with a 26-22 deficit. Canton extended their lead to as many as 11 points in the second, but the Jam would regroup and battled back to get within a point (41-40) at the break.

In the third, there were nine lead changes with both teams keeping it a tightly contested game. Despite going back-and-forth, Canton pulled away slowly in the final minutes of the period and went into the fourth with a 74-67 lead. Trailing by double-digits (92-82) at the 4:20 mark of the final frame, Bakersfield surged to a 13-6 run to get within three points. A C.J. Wilcox trey with 23.9 seconds left in the game cut Canton's lead to 100-98. The ensuing possession, the Jam made a key defensive stop resulting in an opportunity to tie or win the game. With 7.7 seconds left to play, White missed a three-pointer as time expired.

Xavier Munford came off the bench and scored 20 points (8/13 FGs) for the Jam. C.J. Wilcox and White had 18 points apiece, while Deonte Burton finished with 11 points and three steals.

The Charge were led by Quinn Cook (27 points, 5 rebounds) and Michael Dunigan (22 points, 7 rebounds). Joe Harris, on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers, tallied 16 points.

Bakersfield will travel back home and play their next match on Friday, December 4 against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Tip-off is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. PT from the Dignity Health Event Center.
