Bats Slam Way Past Bulls, Win 10-2

Durham, NC - Mark Bellhorn's seventh inning grand slam capped Louisville's 10-run scoring outburst as they cruised to a 10-2 victory and split the four-game series with the Bulls on Monday afternoon at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

RHP Jeff Niemann (4-4) pitched 4 1/3 innings for the Bulls, giving up six runs (five earned) on six hits and four walks, while striking out four. He gave up two runs in the first inning, an unearned run in the third inning, a two-run home run in the fourth inning to Chris Dickerson and was charged with Louisville's sixth run of the day in the fifth inning when Joey Votto, whom Niemann walked, scored on a base hit from Early Snyder after he left the game.

Durham's two runs were scored with a pair of solo home runs from Justin Ruggiano in the first inning and shortstop Jorge Velandia in the third. LHP Mike Gosling went seven innings and struck out 10 for the Bats, allowing just two runs on five hits and no walks.
