Raptors 905 News Release
Raptors 905 (6-14), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors fell to the Greensboro Swarm (6-12) 99-113 Thursday afternoon. The 905 were led by Javon Freeman-Liberty who put up 28 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and four steals in the victory. Amari Bailey contributed 15 points, a career-high 12 rebounds, and six assists for Greensboro.
The two teams opened the ball game trading baskets back-and-forth before a late Swarm basket gave them a two-point lead going into the second quarter. Opening the second, the 905 were able to string together a series of stops and baskets to earn their largest lead of the game, nine, before the visitors were able to cut the lead going into the break.
Down two the open the half, a joint scoring effort from Greensboro allowed them to regain the lead as they went into the final frame up one. The Swarm continued to push the pace in the fourth as they extended their lead 10 points. Raptors 905 rallied back late in the fourth, bringing the ball game to within two-points. A late basket from Justise Winslow (19 points, eight rebounds) and a pair of free throws from Bailey tied the game at the buzzer.
The two teams entered overtime with the newly implemented a Target Score of adding seven points to the tied score for overtime games. The Target Score was set to 102 and the first team to hit or surpass wins. Omari Moore contributed five of the seven points for the 905, including a driving layup for the win.
The 905 received complementary scoring from Moore who added 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Jaylen Sims added a team-high 25 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals in the Swarm loss.
The Raptors 905 travel to Santa Cruise to take on the Warriors while the Swarm host the Motor City Cruise, February 23 at 7:00 p.m.
