Lenard's Career Night Leads Legends Past Skyforce

FRISCO, TX - Teafale Lenard Jr. had a career night as the Legends (10-9) took a wire-to-wire victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce (15-5) 136-129.

Texas went up 9-0 to start the game, holding Sioux Falls scoreless for more than two minutes. Lenard grabbed 10 of his points in the first joined by Greg Brown III as the Legends went up by as many as 22 en route to a 43-26 first quarter. Midway through the second the Skyforce had cut the difference to six, but the Legends responded with a 14-4 run and went into the break up 78-60.

The Legends shot 55% and 44% outside to maintain the double-digit lead through the third. Sioux Falls opened the fourth with a 10-0 run and made it a six-point difference again with 6:49 to play. Theo Pinson hit a long ball followed up by a layup from Brown to bring the lead back to 12. The visitors continued to chip away but Texas had an answer for every basket, sealing the season series sweep.

Lenard finished with 24 points (4-of-8 outside), 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Brown led all scorers with 29 points, 4 rebounds, and a game-high 6 blocks. Pinson added 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists and Justin Jackson tagged on 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jordan Walker came off the bench for 15 points, 3 assists, and Tyler Hall posted 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Josh Christopher led the Skyforce in scoring with 29 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals while Justin Champagnie finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds. Malik Williams posted a game-high 18 rebounds with 16 points and 7 assists and Jamaree Bouyea added a third double-double of 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists. Caleb Daniels knocked down 12-of-18 for 28 points, 5 rebounds to cap off the Skyforce double-digits.
