Raptors 905 (14-12), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, returned to the win column with a 121-119 victory Sunday afternoon against the Grand Rapids Gold (7-20). The 905 were led by Sterling Brown's near triple-double, with 21 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, and two steals. Peyton Watson led the Gold with a career-high 37 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in the loss.

The Gold took control of the game from tip-off, taking an early 13-5 lead before an 8-2 run allowed the 905 to take their first lead of the game. The two teams continued to trade baskets in the opening quarter before the 905 took a one-point lead going into the second. The visitors opened the quarter on a 5-0 run before the Gold regained the lead halfway through the second. Grand Rapids went on to outscore the 905 36-33 in the frame, closing the first half with the two-point advantage.

The 905 came out of the half strong as a 16-7 run gave the visitors their largest lead of the game. The 905 put up 31 in the third while holding the home team to 19 points. Down 10, the Gold mounted their comeback bid in the fourth, outscoring the 905 34-26. Back-to-back buckets from the Gold tied the game at 119 with 9.4 seconds remaining, but it was Jeff Dowtin Jr. whose layup with 1.6 seconds remaining sealed the game for the 905.

The 905 received complementary scoring from Dowtin Jr. who added 24 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals while Grant Golden contributed 14 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds for Grand Rapids.

The two teams meet again Tuesday evening to complete their season series, tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm.
