Raptors 905 (13-12), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, dropped a 112-127 decision to the Delaware Blue Coats (19-7) Thursday evening. The 905 were led by Sterling Brown's 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and one steal in the loss. Jaden Springer led Blue Coats' effort putting up 22 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in the victory.
Delaware opened the ball game strong, going on an 8-0 run in the opening minutes of the match. The 905 returned with eight straight points of their own after the timeout, but a late push from the Blue Coats put them up nine going into the second. Delaware continued to build off their momentum, extending their lead to as many as 15 points before a 13-4 905 run brought the game within three at the break. Jeff Dowtin Jr. (19 points, six rebounds, six assists, one steal) had a game-high 17 points in the half.
The two teams traded baskets in the third, but the Blue Coats were able to outscore the home team 33-30 in the quarter. Up six in the final frame, the Blue Coats used a balanced scoring effort to seal the back-to-back victory in Mississauga.
Gabe Brown paced the 905 with 19 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals off the bench.
while Braxton Key added 15 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals in the victory.
The Raptors 905 will travel to Grand Rapids to take on the Gold, Sunday at 3:00 pm. The Blue Coats return to Delaware to host the College Park Skyhawks Saturday, tip-off scheduled for 6:00 pm.
