The Latest The Connecticut Defenders scored all of their runs with two out, coming from behind to beat the Binghamton Mets 5-4 at Dodd Stadium yesterday...trailing 2-0 after two innings, Binghamton rallied to take a 4-2 lead with three in the sixth, on Chase Lambin's two run double and Jorge Padilla's sacrifice fly, before Mike Nickeas hit a sac fly in the seventh...Lambin finished 2 for 4, also scoring a run. Carlos Gomez also had two hits and a run scored...the loss evens the four-game series at a game apiece and is Binghamton's 19th defeat in their last 28 games.

About Binghamton Yesterday, Portland lost to New Hampshire in 13 innings, putting Binghamton 2 games behind the Sea Dogs for the EL North's final playoff spot with 2 to play. If Binghamton wins their final two games, and Portland loses their final two, that would force a one-game tiebreaker Tuesday in Portland to determine who would advance to postseason play vs. Trenton...RHP Henry Owens is on the USA squad and RHP Ivan Maldonado and LHP William Collazo are playing for Puerto Rico in the COPABE Olympic Qualifying Tournament 8/25- 9/5 in Havana, Cuba. The top two finishers in the 12-team field of North and South American nations qualify for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. The trio is expected to miss the rest of the regular season.
