WEST HAVEN, CT - The New Haven County Cutters scored six times in the bottom of the seventh inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit and defeat le Quebec Capitales, 7-3, Saturday night in the second of a three-game series at Historic Yale Field.

After cruising through the game's first six innings, the Cutters finally got to Capitales' starter RHP Michel Simard (5-2) in the seventh with two-run doubles from first baseman Chris Gaskin and left fielder Kevin Whiteside, a RBI single from third baseman Matt Mercurio and an unearned run from a throwing error to post a six-run frame and break the game wide open.

Gaskin, celebrating a birthday today, also contributed two outstanding defensive plays in the victory.

With the game tied 1-1 in the fourth inning, the Capitales plated two runs with a RBI single from left fielder Mike Galloway and an unearned run off a throwing error to take a 3-1 lead.

Galloway's solo home run (6) in the top of the second inning put the Caps on top 1-0.

The Cutters answered back in the bottom of the second when designated hitter Henri Stanley led off the inning with a triple and scored on a wild pitch to even the game, 1-1.
