Grays 6, Sussex 4

Sussex led the Grays 3-1 entering the top of the fifth inning. But the Grays used a fifth-inning solo home run by DH Chad Gabriel to start a four-run rally and take the lead over the Skyhawks for good. The homer was Gabriel's second in as many nights. After starting Grays pitcher Elliott Shaw allowed four runs over 4.2 innings on 10 hits, the Grays got 4.1 innings of scoreless baseball from their bullpen to get the win. Reliever Tony O'Donnell picked up the win for the Grays, his third of the season. For the Skyhawks, 2B Rob Gandolfo went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

New Haven County 7, Quebec 3

Quebec did all of its scoring early, as the Capitales led 3-1 after three-and-a-half innings. But the Cutters saved their best for last. Highlighted by two separate two-run doubles, New Haven County scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a four-run lead. Starting Cutters pitcher Roland Valles earned his first win of the season with an eight-inning performance in which he allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts. For the Capitales, LF Mike Galloway hit his seventh home run of the season on a 2-for-4 night.

Atlantic City 3, Worcester 1

Atlantic City never trailed to Worcester Saturday night. The Surf picked up a run from RF Rico Santana on a failed pick-off attempt in the top of the second inning and never looked back. Atlantic City was led offensively by C Wally Rosa, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI. But the star of the evening was starting Surf pitcher Monte Mansfield, who pitched seven innings and allowed only one run on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. For the Tornadoes, SS Dominic Ramos went 1-for-3 with Worcester's only RBI of the game.

North Shore 7, Nashua 5 (10 innings)

With the score tied at 5-5 in the bottom of the tenth inning, Spirit RF Carlos Rodriguez ended the game with one swing of the bat. Rodriguez hit his fourth home run of the season to give his team a two-run win over the Pride for North Shore's 18th win of the season. North Shore took an early 4-1 lead, but Nashua rallied to tie the game at 4-4 in the top of the eighth inning, thanks to 2B Jermy Acey's second home run of the year. And after picking up a run in the top of the ninth inning, it looked like the Pride might just pull a victory out of thin air. But the Spirit tied the game on a CF BJ Weed run-scoring double, setting the stage for the dramatic tenth inning.

New Jersey 3, Brockton 1

For four-and-a-half innings, the Rox and Jackals were locked in a scoreless tie. But New Jersey used three hits to manufacture the first run of the game and give the Jackals a 1-0 lead. The Rox tied the game in the top of the seventh inning on a SS Fredy De La Cruz sac fly that scored LF Jeremy Coronado. But the Jackals got instant productivity in the bottom of the inning, as LF Jud Thigpen hit his fifth home run of the season to take the lead for good. New Jersey added another run in the frame on a SS Guillermo Reyes single to make the final score 3-1. Starting Jackals pitcher Michael Vicaro had an impressive outing, pitching seven innings and allowing one run on only three hits with five strikeouts.
