6th Annual "Pink in the Rink" Saturday

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies will hold their sixth-annual "Pink in the Rink" game for breast cancer awareness Saturday when they host the Alaska Aces at 7:05 p.m.

The Grizzlies will be wearing this year's design of their specialty pink jerseys that will be auctioned off live after the game with all proceeds going to fight breast cancer.

Dropping the ceremonial first puck for the evening will be Ginger Johnson, founder and CEO of HappyChemo! Ginger was 31 years old, the mother of 2 and 5 months pregnant when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since her diagnosis Ginger has created HappyChemo.com, been appointed the PINK TOGETHER Survivor Ambassador for General Mills, created and published Utah Cancer Connections Magazine, been featured on StandUp2Cancer.org, and been elected Co-Chair to the Quality of Life Board for Utah Cancer Action Network.

Joining Ginger will be fellow survivor Kathy Howa, President of Swing for Life. Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002. Swing for Life was created by her softball team at Rowland Hall to raise money for local breast cancer research. Today, Swing for Life is supported by over 54 high school softball, baseball, volleyball, basketball, soccer, golf, and tennis teams in the state of Utah as well as 35 high school teams across the nation. Together they work to reach the annual goal of $50,000, donated to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation's breast cancer research program. To date Swing for Life has donated $738,000 for breast cancer research.
