Reading, PA - Forwards Danick Paquette (2g) and David de Kastrozza (1g, 1a) had two-point games as the South Carolina Stingrays (3-2-0-0) toppled the Reading Royals (2-2-1-0) 4-1 at the Sovereign Center Thursday night.

The Royals kicked off the scoring 37 seconds into the second frame with a tally from forward Casey Haines. Forward Daren McCauley and defenseman Rob Kwiet grabbed the assists. That would be the only goal Stingrays netminder Philipp Grubauer (W, 27 saves on 28 shots) would give up as the Stingrays responded at 4:51 with Paquette's second goal of the season from forward Matt Pope. With seconds to play in the period, Stingrays forward Trent Campbell found de Kastrozza with a backdoor pass from the bottom of the left-wing circle to beat Royals goaltender Karel St. Laurent (L, 21 saves on 25 shots) over the glove at 19:04.

The Stingrays added two goals in the third period to make it a 4-1 final. Forward Jerry Pollastrone capitalized on the power play at 6:02 from defenseman Zach Tarkir and de Kastrozza. Paquette buried his second of the night over the right shoulder of St. Laurent at 14:05 with help from forward Anthony Maiani. The Stingrays finished the night 1-for-4 on the power play while the Royals went 0-for-3.

The Stingrays wrap up a five-game road trip in Elmira, New York tomorrow, Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 against the Elmira Jackals at First Arena at 7:35 p.m. Visit StingraysHockey.com for game notes, team news and game recaps.
