67's Take 2-0 Series Lead
March 22, 2010 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
Yesterday's game was fast paced and entertaining for everyone in attendance. Both teams fought hard for a win, but our Ottawa 67's came out on top. The final score was 3-1 in favour of the barber poles, as Thomas Nesbitt netted all three goals for a hat-trick. Goaltender Chris Perugini also put on a clinic stopping 36 of 37 shots, with the only goal allowed being on the power play. Overall it was a very solid win for the 67's as they go up 2-0 in their series against the Ice Dogs.
The fun didn't stop when the game did though, as both intermissions featured activities that kept the crowd cheering. The first intermission featured the search for killer puck, which kept the fans on the edge of their seats as they cheered on the competitor. That wasn't it though, as the second intermission featured a calypso raft race. This event pitted two teams against each other in a race to the finish, but only one could come out on top. Luckily for both teams, they all got passes to Calypso, Canada's largest water park.
Fans, the first round series shifts to Niagara for games 3 and 4. However the team will be back in Ottawa for a game 5, should it be necessary. Game 5 will be played March 28th at 1 o'clock at Scotia Bank Place, so make sure to get your tickets at the box office or online. Remember, home ice advantage isn't a specific building it's you the fans, so come on out and cheer on our boys as they take the ice.
