
Spirit Fall To Rangers 2-1; Rangers Regain Playoff Series Lead

(Kitchener, ON) The Saginaw Spirit paid a visit to Kitchener for Game Three of their playoff series, falling 2-1 in regulation. Goalie Edward Pasquale earned the game's third star honors with 44 saves, while Tyler Murovich tallied the lone Spirit goal in the effort. The Rangers hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series between the two teams, with the action resuming Wednesday night in Saginaw with Game Four.
The Rangers posted a two goal lead during the course of the game, starting with a power play goal courtesy winger Jeremy Morin at 17:10 in the first from defenseman John Moore and winger Jason Akeson. Kitchener's center Jeff Skinner moved the score to 2-0 with a goal at the 1:56 mark of the third period from wingers Jeremy Morin and Gabriel Landeskog. The Spirit responded late in the third period to reduce the deficit to a single goal however, with center Tyler Murovich scoring a power play goal at 14:47 from winger Jordan Szwarz and center Vincent Trocheck. Spirit goalie Edward Pasquale was pulled in the final minute for an extra attacker, but despite the effort the Spirit offense was unable to even the contest.
Spirit goalie Edward Pasquale tallied 44 saves on 46 shots, and Rangers goalie Brandon Maxwell posted 34 saves on 35 shots.

The Spirit and Rangers will bring the action back to The Dow Event Center on Wednesday, March 24, when the two teams take the ice for Game Four at 7:11 PM. The team is hosting a pre-game celebration in the arena with a $1.00 domestic draft beer special from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM and live music featuring the country music of Mandi Layne and the Lost Highway!
