OTTAWA, ON - Success in sports is often about peaking at the right time. For the Ottawa 67's they couldn't have closed out the 2015/16 regular season much better. The Barber Poles head into the OHL playoffs riding a six-game winning streak after ending the regular season on a high note with a 4-2 come-from-behind win over the Oshawa Generals placing them fifth in the OHL's Eastern Conference standings. For the second straight year, Ottawa and Niagara will meet in the opening round of the playoffs with the series opener set for March 24 in Niagara. 67's playoff tickets go on-sale Monday morning at 10:00 a.m..

In a physical opening period, it was the home side that took command on the scoreboard as a pair of goal less than three minutes apart saw the 67's trailing after the opening frame, despite several good opportunities turned aside by Generals goaltender Justin Nichols.

Ottawa took command of the game in the second scoring three times in a span of four minutes. David Pearce's second of the season began the comeback and just over a minute later Nathan Todd's 17th of the campaign pulled the 67's even. Three minutes later Hudson Wilson scored his first career OHL goal - fittingly it would stand to be the game-winner.

The red-hot Artur Tyanulin scored for the sixth straight game as his 20th goal of the season was an important insurance marker as the 67's claimed the 4-2 victory. Tyanulin has notched nine goals during Ottawa's six-game winning streak and has 15 points in his last 10 games. Liam Herbst turned aside 22 of the 24 shots that he faced.

67's Assistant Coach Mike Eastwood, who fulfilled the head coaching duties with head coach and GM Jeff Brown attending the OHL Cup, was impressed with the effort tonight.

"We played for one another big time! The guys really came together in the second period and I am certainly proud of the way they played."

With the regular season drawing to a close, Eastwood praised his team's success in the regular season.

"We really believe in the group we have. Jeff Brown has done a great job at bringing these guys together and everyone is buying into their roles. We are really balanced and we believe we can do some damage in the playoffs."

Ottawa will head to Niagara for Game 1 on Thursday and Game 2 on Saturday. The 67's will host the Ice Dogs March 28 and 30 in Games 3 and 4 at The Arena at TD Place. 67's playoff tickets for the opening round go on-sale Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Ottawa67s.com or by calling 613.599.FANS
