Ottawa 67's News Release

Friday night's game against the Belleville Bulls started off on the wrong foot. Half-way through the first period the Bulls were already up 2-0 and were still coming on strong. The 67's came back with two back-to-back goals, just 13 seconds apart, and tied the game early on. After some fierce back and forth scoring in the second and third periods - tied 5-5 - the game when into overtime.

If they weren't jumping in the aisles, fans were sitting on the edge of their seats chanting '67's Let's Go!' With one minute left in overtime, fans were holding their breath, and a collective gasp echoed in the arena when the Bulls scored the game-winning goal (pictured above) with just 45.7 seconds left.

Some fans did their part to help the team: season-ticket holders and avid fans in section 5 banged their drums, the glass, and drowned out the Belleville coach with noise-makers while the Bulls regrouped for their overtime strategy - see bottom picture.

Before the action began, minor hockey players watched in awe from the home bench as the teams warmed up. Pictured below, they even got a chance to talk to some of the players!

If you couldn't make it to tonight's game and are not happy with having missed all the fun, don't worry - the 67's next home game is this Sunday. With the London Knights in town, it's sure to be a great day at the Civic Centre.

We hope to see you again, or for the first time, this Sunday when your Ottawa 67's take on John Tavares, Michael Del Zotto, and the London Knights!
