
Otters' late power leads to win

Andrew Yogan ignited a three-goal explosion in the final six minutes of regulation to lead the Erie Otters to a 5-2 victory over the Guelph Storm in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,943 at the Tullio Arena. Mike Cazzola and Zack Torquato also pitched in with late goals to lift the Otters to their third straight victory. Luke Gazdic and Ryan O'Reilly also scored for Erie while Tyler Hostetter and Justin Hodgman each collected two assists. The Otters improved to 26-23-2-0 with the win. Peter Holland and Ryan Baldwin scored for the Storm, who dropped to 27-18-2-3. The game was scoreless after one. The two teams were tied at one after two. O'Reilly gave the Otters a 2-1 lead in the opening minute of the third only to be answered by a Guelph strike five minutes later. The tie score held until Yogan's eventual game winner with 5:55 remaining in regulation. Erie out shot the Storm 29-25 in the game as Jaroslav Janus posted the victory. The three stars of the game were all from the Otters. O'Reilly was the first, Hostetter the second and Cazzola the third.
The Otters continue a five-game home stand Friday and Saturday when the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and the Saginaw Spirit visit for 7 p.m. games respectively. Friday against the Greyhounds the first 1,000 fans into the game receive a free appetizer card from Smokey Bones. Saturday against the Spirit it's Turn Back the Clock Night presented by Arlington Lawn Care. Enjoy a celebration of the 1983-84 Erie Golden Blades ACHL Championships with former team members.
