San Bernardino, CA - Abel Baker's RBI single broke a one-all tie in the bottom of the eighth inning, sending Inland Empire to a 3-1 win over the Quakes on Monday night at San Manuel Stadium.

Baker's second hit of the night was the game-winner, as he singled home pinch-runner Trevor Hairgrove, giving the 66ers a 2-1 lead. Zach Wright followed with an RBI double against Freddie Cabrera (2-1), chasing home Baker to make it 3-1.

Inland Empire didn't need the insurance run, as closer Mike Morin worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his 12th save of the year.

The Quakes struggled offensively, as they had six hits, and thanks to two outs on the bases and two double-play balls, Inland Empire's pitching staff faced just three batters over the minimum over nine innings.

Rancho got their one and only run in the second, as Webster Rivas' RBI single plated O'Koyea Dickson to even the game at 1-1.

The Quakes got solid pitching on Monday night, as JonMichael Redding made a spot-start and allowed just one run over 3 1/3 innings. Raydel Sanchez had a terrific night out of the pen, as he allowed just two hits over 2 2/3 scoreless innings, striking out five.

Inland Empire reliever Eric Cendejas (5-2) fired two perfect innings to net the win for the 66ers.

Rancho (0-5, 31-44) has now dropped a season-worst seven straight games, but looks to rebound on Tuesday night, sending Garrett Gould (2-5) to the mound against Inland Empire's Orangel Areneas (4-3) at 7:05pm.

After this seven-game road trip, the Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on Thursday, June 27th for another Thirsty Thursday, featuring $2 domestic 16-oz drafts and 24-oz Pepsi products. Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you very soon at LoanMart Field. Go Quakes!
