Inland Empire 66ers News Release

Inland Empire (33-43, 2-4) fell to the Lake Elsinore (41-35, 5-1) 4-2 as the 66ers offense could not muster enough run production compared to their prior two games. 66ers third baseman Kaleb Cowart was a bright spot as he finished the day going 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Cowart now has six RBIs in six games for the 66ers.

The 66ers offense did not get on the board until the 6th inning with Inland Empire center fielder Drew Heid coming home on Cowart's RBI single. Heid lead off the inning with a single to spark the mini rally. First baseman C.J. Cron had an RBI groundout to pad his league leading RBI total to 66. This is the fourth consecutive game Cron has recorded an RBI.

66ers starter Manny Correa took the loss as he pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up 3 earned runs and striking out three. Storm starter, and Redlands East Valley HS alumn, Matthew Andriese stymied the 66ers offense and limited them to 4 hits and took the win.

The 66ers finish up their series with Lake Elsinore tomorrow at 11:00 am. It will be Camp Day as the 66ers invite all summer camps out to the ballpark for day baseball. The game can be heard on the home of 66ers baseball KCAA 1050 AM beginning with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Pre-Game show at 10:55.
