Tulsa 66ers News Release
TULSA, OK - The Tulsa 66ers closed out the regular season with a 101-87 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Saturday night at the SpiritBank Event Center.
Oklahoma City Thunder assignee Jeremy Lamb scored 12 points with seven rebounds and two steals while fellow assignee DeAndre Liggins posted six points, 14 rebounds, nine assists and a pair of blocks.
Rodney Bartholomew led Tulsa with a career-high 21 points on 10-for-10 shooting from the field alongside seven boards, two assists and two blocked shots.
Rasual Butler collected 17 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots. Tony Taylor added 14 points, two rebounds and two assists.
After the Mad Ants got out to a quick 6-0 start, the 66ers responded with a 9-0 run. Tulsa remained in control the remainder of the game, never surrendering the lead.
Tulsa ends the regular season at 27-23, tying the second-best record in franchise history. The 66ers now look ahead to their third playoff appearance in four years, entering as the seventh seed.
Heading into the postseason, 66ers Head Coach Darko Rajakovic wants to see his team play focused and take the playoffs one game at a time.
"We just need to be focused on playing good basketball and playing without pressure," said Rajakovic. "Those guys have already had great success. For these guys, this whole journey and process was very rewarding. Now it's time to enjoy the playoffs and see what every game will bring. We'll go step-by-step, game-by-game and we'll see."
The NBA D-League uses a unique playoff format where the three division winners have the opportunity to select their first round opponent from the teams ranked five through eight. The top-seeded division winner will select its opponent first, with the second and third ranked division winners following in that order. The fourth seed will play the remaining team.
The 66ers will learn their first-round fate Sunday afternoon when the division winners make their selections.
Tickets for Tulsa's first-round game are on sale now. Tickets start at just $11 and include a voucher for a free hot dog and soft drink. Fans can be a part of Tulsa's postseason run by purchasing tickets on Tulsa66ers.com or by calling the 66ers ticket office at (918) 585-8444.
