6-4 Win Gives Osprey Series over Voyagers

GREAT FALLS, MONT. - The Missoula Osprey (7-7) pushed their winning streak to three in a row with another victory over the Great Falls Voyagers (8-6), 6-4.
The comeback theme continued with a pair of runs scored in both the sixth and seventh innings as the O's churned out 12 hits in total. Sergio Alcantara led the way offensively with a 3-5 effort and drove home a run. Kevin Cron, Dane McFarland, Tyler Clark, and Michael Abreu would all bring in a run in Missoula's win. The Osprey clubbed four doubles in the winning effort, including a 2-run double by Dane McFarland.
Markus Solbach (1-2) received his first win of the season with a line of six innings, six hits, three runs, two earned, no walks, and four strikeouts to continue his steady improvement on the mound. Derek Cape picked up his second hold of the season with two innings of shutout action on the mound. He was followed by Brody Greer, who notched his team-high third save of the season with a couple of hits and one run in the ninth but posted three strikeouts.
Matt Cooper of the Voyagers (1-1) took the loss by allowing two runs in the seventh, capitalized by a Dane McFarland 2 RBI double. Great Falls starter Dane Stone worked a career-best six innings with seven strikeouts but gave up eight hits and a pair of runs in his no-decision.
Missoula ends its road trip tomorrow at Great Falls with a 7:00 p.m. start as the Osprey look for the sweep. The O's return home on July 1 to begin their second homestand of the year.
