MISSOULA RALLIES AGAIN
The Voyagers had an early lead for the second straight night against the Missoula Osprey but again their bullpen couldn't hold it. Great Falls took a 6-2 lead into the sixth, and the Osprey started the frame with three straight hits to knock starter Matt Ball out of the game and cut the lead to two. The seventh was the big frame for Missoula, as the Voyager bullpen surrendered 5 runs on 4 hits to allow the Osprey to go in front 9-6. The Voyagers crawled back into it with runs in the seventh and ninth, but left the tying and winning runs aboard in the ninth.
NOTHING FISHY HERE
Voyager catcher Zach Fisher had himself a big night on Saturday, going 2-2 and tying a career-high with 4 runs batted in. Both of his hits were extra-base knocks, an RBI triple to straightaway center, and a two-run double to left. Fisher's other career minor league game with 4 RBIs came on August 4 of last year, against Helena.
CHEVY'S BIG NIGHT
The night started off well for Great Falls last night as center fielder Chevy Clarke hit a lead-off homer to right in the bottom of the first. That was just the start of a big night for Clarke, as the former Angels farmhand went 3-4 with a pair of runs driven in, and 3 runs scored. The 3 runs scored tie a career-high for Clarke, a mark he has now hit six times. He comes into today's action tied with teammate Jackson Laumann and Helena's Brandon Diaz for the PL lead with 3 homers and tied with Laumann for the league lead in RBIs with 10.
BULLPEN STRUGGLES
The last two nights have been a struggle for the Great Falls bullpen, surrendering a lead in both games of this series to Missoula. In eight innings of work so far in this series, the Voyager bullpen has allowed seven runs (all earned), 11 hits, and six walks, allowing the Osprey to erase 3-0 and 6-2 deficits.
