Prince George Cougars News Release
PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The wait is over, hockey has finally returned to Prince George. The Prince George Cougars' 2021-2022 Home Opener, presented by TELUS, is set for this Saturday against the defending BC Division champion Kamloops Blazers, with the puck drop at 7:00 pm.
"To say our staff is thrilled to be welcoming our fans back to our Home Opener is a huge understatement," said Cougars Vice President, Business Andy Beesley. "We have many new promotions this season, with one of the biggest being our new online 50/50 sales, which allow anyone 19+ in BC to purchase tickets online in the days leading up to some of our biggest games."
The Cougars 50/50 Society has launched online sales for the team's five Feature Games 50/50 jackpots, including Saturday's Home Opener. To purchase online 50/50 tickets, eligible customers must be 19+ and be within British Columbia at the time of sale. Online sales are available at www.pgcougars.com/5050society (19+. Know your limit, play within it). Eligible customers for Online 50/50 sales can now purchase their tickets for Saturday's jackpot, which includes online and in-arena sales.
Cougars' fans have waited 18 months to see their team hit the ice at the CN Centre. The long-anticipated Home Opener will be the Cougars first Regular Season home game at the CN Centre since March 7, 2020.
To welcome back fans to the CN Centre, Crossroads Brewing & Distillery will be offering fans 19+ samples of their Claws Out Blond Ale, brewed in partnership with the Cougars. Fans can visit Section K and sign a "Good Luck Cougars" banner that will travel on the road with the team throughout the season.
TELUS will be giving away prizes to two lucky fans in their first intermission Zorb "Capture the Can" contest.
The Cougars and Northern Health are partnering to provide a pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic prior to the game on Saturday. The clinic will be outside of the CN Centre main entrance from 3-7 pm. The clinic is open to anyone eligible (12+) for their first or second dose.
"We're pleased to be working with Northern Health to provide a pop-up Vaccine Clinic right outside our main entrance," said Beesley. "This clinic is open to anyone aged 12 or older for their first or second dose. No appointment needed, and the best news is that even if this is your first shot, you'll be able to attend the game."
All fans attending games at the CN Centre will need to follow the BC Provincial Health Authority and the Western Hockey League's COVID-19 health and safety requirements, which includes masks and BC Vaccine Card.
Single game tickets start at just $16 and are available at the TicketsNorth box office at the CN Centre, by phone (1-888-293-6613), or online at www.ticketsnort.ca.
