McClennon Returns to ICE from Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Flyers announced this morning they have assigned forward Connor McClennon to the Winnipeg ICE.

McClennon, selected 178th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft by the Flyers, took part in his first NHL training camp.

In 2020-21, the Wainwright, Alberta product completed his third WHL season with the ICE leading the team with 14 goals and finished second in assists (19) and points (33), only behind Peyton Krebs. The ICE selected McClennon in the 1st round, 2nd overall in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. McClennon represented Canada in 2018-2019 at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he registered 11 points (8 goals and 3 assists) in 5 games.

The ICE open the WHL regular season Friday night in Brandon (6:30 pregame show on CFRW 1290).

The two teams return to the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena for the Nutrien Ag Solutions Home Opener Saturday at 7:00.
