
2018 Post-MLB Draft Workout at the Corn Crib

Normal, Illinois - The Normal CornBelters have announced a post-MLB Draft workout will be held at The Corn Crib, presented by Illinois Corn Growers, in Normal.
The workout will take place on Saturday, June 9th with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. CT. Registration will take place outside the right-field/center-field gate (southeast corner of the ballpark) and will carry a fee of $75 per participant (cash or check only).
Participants should arrive with their own equipment pertinent to their position. Please note that The Corn Crib does have an artificial turf surface so metal cleats are not allowed. Sunflower seeds and shelled nuts are also not allowed in the facility or on the playing surface.
The current schedule of activities for the workout is as follow but is subject to change:
- 9:00 a.m. - Registration begins
- 10:00-10:30 - Stretch and 60-yard dash
- 10:30-11:00 - Position players throw to warm up arms, then all OF in RF will perform throws to 2B, 3B & Home. All 3B at 3B and all middle INF at SS - throws to 1B; all C behind the plate - pop times (throws to 2B, snap throws to 1B, throw downs to 3B)
- 11:00 - Pitchers begin to get loose/stretch (2 pitchers warm up at a time in bullpen preparing to face live hitters) Rotation to be set based on the number of pitchers attending
- 11:00-11:30 - Live batting practice (3 rounds of 5 swings per hitter) Group rotation to be set based on the number of hitters attending
- 11:30-1:00 p.m. - Live versus hitters (simulated game)
- 1:00 p.m. - Q & A followed by individual evaluations
Please note that there will be a special event taking place on The Corn Crib grounds (front lawn and parking lot) the morning of the workout. Participants coming for the workout should park in the spaces available, and closest, to the center-field gate. You may inquire with parking attendants upon arrival and entry through the southwest facility entrance located off Raab Road (1000 West Raab Road) to be directed to the appropriate location for registration.
