2016 WHL Bantam Awards & Bantam Draft this Week

Kamloops, BC - The WHL Awards Luncheon and WHL Bantam Draft will be held in Calgary this week. The WHL Awards Banquet is on Wednesday, May 4th and the WHL Bantam Draft takes place on Thursday, May 5th.
Goaltender Connor Ingram and forward Collin Shirley were both named to the WHL's Western Conference Second All-Star Team. For a list of the WHL All-Star teams, follow this link. For a list of WHL Award nominees, follow this link.
The WHL Bantam Draft will start Thursday morning at 7:30am/PT. The Blazers hold the 15th overall pick and have six picks in the first five rounds of the draft.
Those eligible for the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft include graduating Bantam age players born in 2001 from the four Western Provinces and the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
A few roster players previously chosen in the WHL Bantam Draft include Nick Chyzowski, Garrett Pilon, Quinn Benjafield, Nolan Kneen and Jermaine Loewen.
The WHL Awards Luncheon and the WHL Bantam Draft will be available, free of charge, via LIVE webcast available at http://www.whl.ca/ .
