SPOKANE, WA - The 2016 Spokane Indians take the field for the first time in just eight days on June 17 with Opening Night Fireworks & AAA Magnet Schedule Giveaway presented by Les Schwab Tires, KREM 2-TV, 93.7 The Mountain, SportsRadio 1510 KGA NW Sports Talk, and Journal of Business, and tonight the roster will begin to take shape.

At 4 PM on MLB Network and MLB.com, the first two rounds of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft will begin with the Texas Rangers slotted in at the No. 30 overall selection. Texas will also select in the second round with the No. 63 overall pick.

Recent first-round selections by the Rangers who played in Spokane include last year's No. 4 overall selection Dillon Tate, 2013's No. 23 overall pick Chi Chi Gonzalez, and Joey Gallo, who was selected 38th overall in 2012.

In addition to players from this year's draft, the Indians roster will also be composed of draftees from previous years, international or free-agent signees, and players from Extended Spring Training in Arizona.

Rounds 3 through 10 will continue Friday, June 10 starting at 1 PM with Rounds 11 through 40 finishing on Saturday, June 11.
