2015 Strike Out Cancer Night Set for August 26

(Florence, KY) - The Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, will host their 12th annual "Strike Out Cancer" Night presented by Thorntons on Wednesday, August 26th.
The event will take place as the Freedom take on the Rockford Aviators in a doubleheader with first pitch set for 5:35 p.m.
"The game is all about remembering, hope and encouragement," Freedom General Manager Josh Anderson said. "Somewhere in-between there, a baseball game breaks out."
Cancer survivors and their families are treated to complimentary tickets thanks local companies that sponsor the event to make it possible. Survivors who would like to attend the game with their family should email Max at tickets@florencefreedom.com. Complimentary tickets are available on a first come first serve basis.
The Freedom will wear special Striking Out Cancer jerseys during game one of the doubleheader. Fans can bid on the jerseys during the game in a silent auction to benefit the I Have Wings Foundation, Susan G. Komen and the American Cancer Society.
At the conclusion of game one, all Cancer survivors in attendance will be called down onto the field to be honored for their courageous fight against the disease.
